“Come and have fun” they said. “Thank you” I said….

My son was not very sporty, but wanted to join a football team. The Hornets is his local team so he turned up on a Monday night, not really knowing much about the sport. Not knowing what a goalie did, or a defender did, but the coaches said “come along, have some fun”. So that is what he has done.

He kicked a ball, he saved a goal, he scored a goal. But the smile on his face was something that every parent wants to see. He has been with the club for the last 2 seasons and is thoroughly enjoying what he does.

The guys have given him so much confidence, respect, fun and laughter, and that is all a parent can ask for.

The Hornets are an amazing club, a fab bunch of coaches who take our sons and daughters off the streets, teach them the wonderful game of football, but also teach them respect for one another, confidence within themselves, and also how to smile when things don’t go their way.

It doesn’t matter whether the team wins, loses or draws, you guys are an inspiration to around 140 kids.

From all players and families/supporters we thank you for what you do.

And to the coaches of Hatton United Junior Football club.(Arthur Highs,Rob Ellerington,Dave Tomlin,Pete Jane’s,George Hodson Walker,Matt Underwood).

From a happy parent
