Today we heard terrible news from club chairman Mike Fudge:
It’s with great sadness I write this post but between the hours of 9:30pm and 6am Lytchett and Upton red triangle fc club house was broken into with trophies being smashed and stolen, the walls graffitied, tv smashed, glasses from the bar area broken and cans of drink, sweets, chocolate bars stolen!
They also then went and set fire to the kids play area on the far side of the recreation ground.
The police were call around 6am on Sunday morning after a report of a break in at the club house. The mindless vandals destroyed years of trophies won by the club also breaking tv screens smashing glasses from the bar area by playing cricket with the glasses and sprayed graffiti on the wall.
They stole all the first aid kits and tuck shop sweets and cans of drink. The club house was recently decorated and destroyed many hours of volunteers hard work. Volunteers arrived armed with paint brushes and cleaning material by 6:30am and by 3pm the club house was ready to be reopened.
The club are trying to raise money to purchase & install cctv equipment, an improved alarm system, replacement doors & locks as well as replacing the items which were damaged, vandalised or stolen.
The children see the Pavilion as their sporting home; please help them to put the smile back on their faces!
