Well another Saturday goes by and another game sees my team improve again.
Every week I see a pass or a move we couldn’t do the previous week, this a coach makes me feel proud.
Small improvements every week is all I can ask for, now to the game and the most monumental over reaction of all time….
This week we played the top of the league team who had already won the league, last season this team absolutely destroyed us and we tearless touched the ball.
I discussed last years game with the players and encouraged them to play our own game and improve on last seasons performance.
The game from my perspective was brilliant, we fought for every ball, chased every lost cause, we even had a few chances, alas the end result was a 4-0 defeat.
To me and the team this was a great result as last time we played it was double figures, I couldn’t of asked for more from my players and I knew they had gave everything. Like I do after every game I discussed the game with Team and told them how proud I was of them, whilst I was doing this I kid you not, I overheard a parent mumbling under her breath “that result has ruined my weekend” she actually said these words after my U10s lost 4-0 at the weekend.
I will be honest I considered exploding and having a public rant, instead I decided against it and biting my tongue.
All I will say is….
If a team of 9 year olds losing a game ruins your weekend I think your perspective on reality is warped.
